XC-Walker George Throop & Hardwiring Happiness

I have been following along with Mr. George Throop’s progress online for a long time now, and even got in touch with him several months ago to seek advice for my own walk. I was very surprised to learn very recently that George was about to go straight through my town in NJ as he approached his final destination of NYC! It was a pleasure being able to host him at my home, and he repaid me with the fantastic interview above. ๐Ÿ™‚

Eight Inspiring & Incredible Images from 2013

hardwiring happiness
“Why is it easier to ruminate over hurt feelings than it is to bask in the warmth of being appreciated?ย Because your brain evolved to learn quickly from bad experiences but slowly from the good ones. You can change this. “Hardwiring Happiness” lays out a simple method that uses the hidden power of everyday experiences to build new neural structures full of happiness, love, confidence, and peace.” I’m almost done with this book and highly recommend it. ๐Ÿ™‚

Social media
I used to get easily distracted by sites like Facebook and Reddit throughout the course of my day. I recently implemented a simple trick that has led me to much greater productivity: Keep just one browser on the computer, and then install an extension for that browser that blocks specific sites during certain hours of the day. There are good options no matter what you use!ย Check it out here!
